biography
Chris Richter is an Amsterdam-based artist, who distinguishes herself as storyteller first, musician second. Her indie-folk style music bends to the will of the words she writes with instinct and intent. Her obsession with reshaping the boundaries of language makes for intricate word webs that come to rest on dark reverb, haunting strings and horns and deep and rhythmic bass. 'Rephrase, and then rephrase again,' is the holy idea of her music.
Her sharp introspection and love for history have brought forth a number of songs inspired by Greek mythology, as well as some more personal works. Her newest EP, The Train of 3:30, is a collection of interconnected yet atmospherically diverse songs.
